Animal Crossing
So, anyone out there with Animal Crossing: City Folk want to trade Friend Codes? After years of never playing the franchise I decided to pick up the game this week. As soon as I figure out how to get my Friend Code I’ll post it here. It keeps telling me that I don’t have a Friend Code for the game yet so I don’t have one to share with everyone else.
Re: Animal Crossing
I have not been on for... years? The weeds would have taken over I'm betting. Don't think I'd want to invite anyone over to see that garbage... and don't know if I want to re-dig the hole that was once called Animal Crossing. It's crazy addictive.... and that K.K. Slider... coolest cat... err dog. I do miss Kappn from the DS version.
Re: Animal Crossing
I can’t comment on the DS version, but I got driven to and from town by Kapp’n. How is he different in City Folk compared to the DS Animal Crossing?
I didn’t get hooked last night because I couldn’t really do anything since everything was closed when I started up the game. I got to do some deliveries for Tom Nook and then I went to the city and took in a show, but all the shops were closed.

Ahhh... I made a mistake. I meant I miss the Kappn from the original GC version. You could only meet him if you connected a Gameboy Advance(d) to the game. Then Kappn would meet up with you on the beach with his little row boat and ship you over to a special island. His sea shanty's about sea life and women are hilarious. Loved him. Probably my favorite character with K.K. in a very close second.
Re: Animal Crossing
I need to be able to get around and do things in the day. By the time I'm able to get on and play it's after 8:00 and I'm not really doing much aside from catching a few fish and selling cherries. I keep hearing about needing a shovel, but I can't find one for sale, and I want to put some furniture in my house.
Re: Animal Crossing
Well... I know people frown on this but.... Just change the time on your Wii or in the game itself. Just don't mess up and reverse time before your last save or else it "corrupts" the game somehow. It knows you rewound time and will not offer you some of the best most rarest items or something like that. I've never done it so I don't really know. I just remember reading something about it. It's a punishment kinda like Mr. Resetti. ARRRGGGHHHHH I hate that guy!!! Especially when you have a power outage or are so tired that you accidentally shut the system off before you saved it. There are few game characters I hate with a passion. Mr. Resetti is probably #1.
I'll send up a friend code when I look it up this weekend (if memory serves). I also have the Wii Speak peripheral that I think works with AC??? I dunno. it's still boxed and dusty.

I don’t really want to cheat the game to get the stuff that I want to see I want to play it the “Right Way”. That’s a game designed for people who don’t have 10 hour a day job. I did get a Mr. Resetti figure because yesterday was Groundhog Day.
My son moved into town and told me he snuck into my house while I was sleeping. [=^)

I would in no way call it cheating. I think as a game, you should be able to enjoy everything about it without having to sacrifice your life schedule to do so. If you just bumped the game back a few hours just so you can enjoy the daylight for a while, do it. Leave it like that for a month or so to enjoy the daylight. Then switch it back to normal time. Why would anyone consider that a bad thing?
Re: Animal Crossing
If I do that then there's a good chance that the kids would then be playing the game in the dark. Both my oldest daughter and youngest son like the game now and are wanting to play it.
Re: Animal Crossing
Ahhhh. Thought it was just you. If they are also playing it, twould be unfair to alter the game to suit just your needs. Well I guess they could be nice and leave some of the items they find at your doorstep or mail you stuff. That's always fun
Re: Animal Crossing
Jake was already trying to figure out how to leave things as presents. He wanted me to give him a fish that I caught because he saw the fish in a tank in my house.

Unfortunately you can't "mail" fish or leave them at doorsteps. you unfortunately need to fish em yourself
But furniture can be mailed in an envelope no matter how big or small. It's great!
Re: Animal Crossing
Looks as if my Animal Crossing Friend code is as follows:
3611-5531-8095
Weeds apparently didn't sprout up as much as I expected considering it's been almost exactly 2 years since I logged on.

Re: Animal Crossing
Oh my name on it is Vu Prime and town name is Valley. I have you registered and assumed your name would be Tony on it.
Re: Animal Crossing
I'll try to leave the town open for large blocks of time for you to visit. I won't necessarily be playing so if you see my character just standing in place, I'm probably cleaning house and having the town door open for visitors. I just ask that you don't cut down the trees and leave profanities on t-shirts. I got kids...
Feel free to pick as much fruit as you want. Plant em in your town and they'll be worth 500 instead of the standard 100 from local fruit (cherries in your town I believe).
Oh and coconuts will only grow close to the beach. So if you try to plant them elsewhere, they will always wilt and die.

Re: Animal Crossing
Kewl Beans.
Well I'll have you all "friend-ed" by end of day. As I've told Tony, I'll leave my gates open from 8:00 - 10:00 pm-ish (Same time zone as ya'll I think - CST) most evenings so you can have a place to visit other than the "city".
Also I have done a little time travelling on my own in the game. Animal Crossing time zone in Valley is 6 hours behind real time to allow Tony access to daytime when he plays evenings. I'll leave it in that "time zone" for a while until I decide to get back into the Stalk Market. Much easier to keep track of turnip prices when it's actually real time.
Feel free to pick fruit and plant em in your town. Please do not chop down trees. That would be unkind.
Lastly I got kidz. Please be mindful of how you answer townsfolk. I don't want my townsfolk calling me "poopiehead" or "dumb bunny" constantly
P.S. If there are any items you need to complete sets or if there are things that you just want, send a message. I'll see what I can order from my Nook the Crook catalog.
I would like a Metroid if anyone has one. I actually don't know if they are available in City Folk but they were available in Wild World. Also if anyone has a little bro stache... that'd be cool too. Unsure if one exists but since I own a big bro stache, I'd assume there is the other.
