Frustration Empty Frustration

Post  Gil Tue Oct 18, 2011 2:33 pm

I think it's our st00pd firewalls here at work but I can't seem to completely download podcasts anymore. They get close to finishing and then I get a "timed out" error. I hate not being able to listen to the podcasts at work. Makes work suck all the more.

If you have access to it try a site called Stitcher. You can find it at http://stitcher.com.
They actually have it set up so that the latest episode of the podcast streams directly over the internet. If you can’t download it, but you can listen to it through your computer you might see if that would work.

If that doesn’t let me know and I’ll see if there’s something else that can be done.

Frustration Empty Worse come to worse

I can download it at home and bring it to work. Just so inconvenient considering it used to just download in the background and I'd be good to go on Monday afternoon.

I used to have that same problem at a job I used to have. I came to the same conslusion about the firewall thing. I never found a solution though. Maybe if you pause/unpause the download every so often...

Frustration Empty Unfortunately

I already tried the pause-restart idea. I think the firewall also has a way of not caching downloads. So when I press pause, it actually just stops instead. When I press continue it starts downloading from scratch. ARRGGGH! I usually manage to get the QB podcasts but the Okie podcasts are substantially larger. oh well i guess.
