Ambassador Program Empty Ambassador Program

For anyone out there in the Ambassador Program let's speculate on some of the titles that you think or hope will be available.

The number one game on the GBA I want to see in the program is Drill Dozer. I recently bought a copy of this little known gem and loved it. It was developed by GameFreak (the makers of Pokemon), published by Nintendo and released after the DS had been out so it kinda got lost in the shuffle.

This one needs to make the list. More people should play it and it would be the perfect opportunity to maybe restart that franchise.

The full list of Ambassador games has been revealed. Anyone that's a member of this program has to tell me what they think of these titles.

Super Mario Bros.
The Legend of Zelda
Ice Climbers
Balloon Fight
Donkey Kong Jr.

Now the new ones:

Metroid
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
Wrecking Crew
NES Open Golf
Yoshi

I'm uncaring about Zelda II as I just can't stand that game at all. It's the one game in the franchise that I just don't like. The only game that I can tell is missing that I just really wanted to play was Kid Icarus. It would have been perfect with the new game coming out.

Are there any NES games that you would have liked to make this list. You have to remember that these are all Nintendo published games.

Ambassador Program Empty Kid Icarus

Post  Gil Tue Oct 04, 2011 9:52 am

Should have definitely been one of them. Overall this ambassador program is disappointing to me. Not that free games are a bad thing but it just shows that Nintendo jumped the gun on pricing the handheld. It shows that they were totally wrong and they are trying to make up for it to early adopters. Granted getting something as an apology is better than nothing but if I had picked up a 3DS on release day and they announced this, I'd be pissed. I'm actually kinda angry as it is for the early adopters. Shame on Nintendo. I hope this gets them off their high horse and teaches them a little humility.

Bah! What am I saying? I still love Nintendo. They still have some of the best franchises.

I'm more interested in the GBA offerings for the Ambassadors than I am the NES ones. Pretty much all of the GBA games will be new to me, unless they give us Minnish Cap or Drill Dozer as one of the five we don’t know about yet. (Both of those I do hope are offered because they’re great games.)

The Ambassador program was good, but Nintendo only did it because it’s not really costing them anything to put those games on the 3DS eShop. I would have liked to have $80 worth of eShop credit to pick up new stuff and Nintendo should have had a lineup of brand new eShop games available for download when that went live.

My biggest complaint about the eShop is that there is no original content outside of Let’s Golf 3D. All of the games available for download are just DSiWare games that can’t take advantage of the 3DS hardware. We really need new eShop games. It’s been long enough. there should be games available to purchase.

Ambassador Program Empty How about now!?

Post  Davoid Sun Jan 29, 2012 1:13 am

Hey all! Now that the full list of ambassador games have been released, what are your favorite NES & GBA titles. How about the ones you hate the most?! So 4 games: 1 favorite NES game, 1 favorite GBA game, 1 least liked NES game, 1 least liked GBA game. Smile

Here is my lineup:

The Best:
-NES: The Legend of Zelda (could have been Zelda II if only that game wasn't that hard at the start)
-GBA: Yoshi Island: Super Mario Advance 3 (It would have been Kirby & the Amazing mirror if only that game wasn't so confusing)

The Worst:
-NES: Yoshi (I really liked that puzzler on my GB as a Kid... now I realize it's just plain boring)
-GBA: Wario Land 4 (I own that game... this one is worst than Wario: Master of disguise. That's a shame

So yeah, there you have it... so what are your top 2 & bottom 2 ambassador games? Rolling Eyes

Man why does everybody hate on Yoshi? I love that game. So maybe it isn't complex but it can get pretty hectic and the music is awesome.

Ambassador Program Empty It's the first game I tried when I got my NES games...

Post  Davoid Sun Jan 29, 2012 1:52 am

It's the first game I tried when I got my NES games... I think it fits the GB format better than the NES. I was a bit disapointed. Sad

Hey Shelby, do you have 3DS? If so, how about some friend code exchange, so I could annoy the hell out of you. Wink Shocked

Good idea. Here are my faves and least faves.

Favorites:

NES: Super Mario Bros. The game is a classic. There isn't a week that goes by that I don't play this game at least once. The only bad part about this game is that you can't remap the controls.
GBA: Metroid Fusion. I played this for the first time with the Ambassador Program and loved every minute of it. I haven't played MInish Cap yet, so that could eventually take the title.

Least Favorites:

NES: Zelda II I've never liked this game. It's by far my least favorite game in the franchise.
GBA: I would have to give it as a tie to Super Mario Kart and F-Zero. The racing games just don't translate well to the GBA in my opinion.

You're not the only one that likes Yoshi Shelby. I hate it, but Katy plays it all the time. She really, really likes that game.

I do not. However when I do gather the money to get one I will let everybody know.
