Cabela Game (Just for Gil) Empty Cabela Game (Just for Gil)

Hey Gil. I’ve been playing a Cabela game for review and I thought of you when it came in, since you have a funny history with that franchise. [=^) I have to say Survival of Katmai, not bad. The campaign itself might be rubbish, with terrible terrain clipping issue and weird animations, but that shooting gallery portion of the game, I have to say, is pretty good.

I’ll have the review up in a few days and you’ll see the whole story.

So do you need a zapper attachment to take full advantage of this? Cause I find it strange to play shooting games while pointing a wiimote or move. Just unnatural... which is kinda funny cause I've never actually held a gun before aside from plastic versions.

The zapper does work better than just Wii Remote/Nunchuk, but if you buy the bundle (which is $60) it comes with a cool “super-sized” Zapper which looks like a hunting rifle. It feels really good to hold and seems more natural in a hunting game than the tommy gun style zapper does.

The game itself is $30. So far the “survival horror” storyline hasn’t been great. I’ve had numerous times where I jump from one ledge to another and simply disappear inside the mountain for a couple of seconds before re-emerging. The shooting gallery is really good though. You’ve got to switch back and forth between rifles (for ground based enemies) and shotguns (for birds). That’s done with a quick flick of the analog stick.

Do you people know what you're writing? The Wii Zapper is just a piece of plastic. Am I the only sane person left on this forum? Razz

I actually do far better at shooter game without the Zapper. I played Link's Crossbow Training without it. I paid my $25 for the game, not the shell.

I've actually played some games where I was glad that I had the zapper. Having two hands on the gun made it easier to keep the pointer steady, so I actually like using it. It's just a piece of junk plastic, but I like it.
